Once again Alan Dunn has produced a delightful book packed fulled with exquisite cakes. Clear, concise instructions are included to complete a whole range of sugar flowers including modern and old fashioned rose varieties, a breathtaking double peony, french lavender, various orchids and foliage. There are beautiful wired fantasy butterflies to enhance any cake project and a new departure - vegetables and nuts. How refreshing to see yet another idea in sugar. There are lifelike radishes, peas complete with their pods and lovely hazelnuts to name a few. As well giving information on producing the flowers, foliage and now nuts and vegetables there are also numerous cake projects with interesting and varied side designs to cover a whole range of celebrations for both male and female and all age groups. Alan's books become a constant reference source when creating cakes and for anyone interested in creating lifelike sugar flowers their bookshelf should not be without this latest title. There are plenty of new ideas and flowers to recreate and be inspired by. Recipes and techniques are covered and templates provided and plenty of clear photographs to show all the details in full. Highly recommended.

I have nearly all of Alan Dunn's books and this one does not dissapoint. Beautifully illustrated, the method for making the 38 flowers and foliage etc. are well explained with each stage being pictured so that you know what your work should look like. The book then goes on to use these to decorate cakes.
Whilst some of the more elaborate cakes might daunt all but the most experienced sugarcrafters, others are well within reach. It is nice that there are plenty of templates at the back of the book if you don't want to buy all the cutters.
Well worth a place in any cake decorators library.

This book continues Alan's search for new and interesting ideas as well as encompassing some of the more traditional aspects of flower making too. He always manages to create a unique style of his own with a precise attention to detail. There are no wonky or cupcakes in this book..... Thankfully! ... I am sure that these sudden trends in cake decorating will not last. Alan's books and work will still be appreciated twenty or more years from now. He Blazes a trail!

Another great book from alan dunn. I have several books from this author, he is a great sugarcrafter.
Some of the flowers he creates are sensational and out of the ordinary. I always look forward when i hear
he has another book coming out.
Keep them coming alan.

Alan Dunn is one of the best buys when it comes to flower making especially his new titles produced in the last 2 or 3 years. He is a good demonstrator so if you get the chance to see him I would recommend you do. I use his books when teaching for templates and hand outs and find him invaluable on my book shelf.
