5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic . You won`t stop laughing! 25 July 2000
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
You must buy this video! Alan is a fantastic comedian and performer and if you can`t see him live then buy this. ( or try to do both if you can). Alan manages to take mundane everyday things and make them funny. Everything from a fleet of Capris, bananas in pyjamas, bungee jumping, the Queen Mother,Tina Turner, human poo, ladies pants, poppers on bodies and of course the infamous cats and being sick....I`ve watched it at least 10 times and it never fails to make me laugh even though I now (pathetically) know all the jokes by heart. And note that the intro music is extremely funky! Buy it! Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute must have! 7 Mar 2007
This is one of the greatest stand-up routines of all time. Much better than his earlier "Live at the Lyric", it's one hilarious anecdote after another. Not as blue as Frank Skinner; not as surreal as Eddie Izzard; not as contrived as Jasper Carrott; just very VERY funny. Some of the themes are dated now, but this doesn't detract from the humour. Alan's interaction with the audience is also spot-on - whilst he is also a great actor, this DVD just reminds us what a shame it is that he no longer has any plans to tour (though you can check [...] to see if he changes his mind)! In the meantime, buy the DVD, unplug the phone, pour yourself a drink, put your feet up, and prepare to laugh yourself silly. ENJOY!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Comedian With The Curliest Hair 30 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
This is by far the funniest video I have ever seen, I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe!! The fact that Alan can take the most everyday things, and make them so funny is amazing. I still relate amusing occurences in my own life to sketches from this video!! I prefer this to Peter Kay by far!

5.0 out of 5 stars Alan Davies Hits the ACE 15 Nov 2004
From the opening titles you can sense this is a show with a lot to offer. Alan's strange ability to take even the most normal of ideas and turn it into something humouros is ecceptional. I laughed my face off quited litterally. I have been a fan from live at the lyric and i thought that was great.... this is far better its just a shame that he has truned to acting like most comics these days... come back alan

4.0 out of 5 stars Very very droll! 30 Mar 2006
Alan Davies is one of natures funny guys. He has a dry ambience which is very engaging and this type of humour does not really age. Like Eddie Izzard but slightly less surreal and normally dressed.

This is a truly hilarious show.
The section about the cats, the pigeon and the mouse never fails to have me in tears of laughter.
And anyone who ever rode an old FS50 will know EXACTLY what he's talking about - 49cc of mayhem !!!
Truly worth adding to your comedy collection.
Brilliant - even for us whingin' Poms (Buy the dvd to understand that)

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good... 11 July 2007
The DVD description is right, If you like the TV Alan you'll love the live Alan, and if you don't like the TV Alan, you'll love the live Alan even more,
The persona you see on QI and Johnathan Creek is definatly tweaked to suit a specific audience, wheras the the live Alan is all real, and all funny.
A lot like Jeff Green in the types of jokes he tells and in the delivery, but with many topics such as ice skating at the Olympics and keeping his cats under conrol.
A highly recomended DVD, Top of my collection
PS, I think he was rather drunk when filming this.
