Product Description

Alan Davies, most famous for his roles in the hit comedy-quiz QI, comedy-drama Bob & Rose and the long running series Jonathon Creek, is now seen in his original guise as a stand-up comedian. In this one man show Alan reveals his true comedy credentials that led to his celebrity status as one of today's biggest TV comedy performers! Lafter Hours was recorded in front of an appreciative (and somewhat inebriated) audience at the Town & Country Club in Highbury. A must see for all Alan Davies Fans….

1.0 out of 5 stars I CAN ONLY APOLOGISE SAYS ALAN DAVIES 7 Oct 2008
I keep trying to warn people off this sub-standard product which has nothing to do with me. I had no idea it was being marketed prior to its appearance on Amazon and have since asked the producers of this DVD for contractual proof that they have the rights to market this product. They have produced no evidence but are going ahead regardless. I won't benefit in any way from sales of this DVD and would like to warn people off buying it as the recording is poor and the gig itself, which happened back in 1991, was awful and not worth paying to see.
Each time I post on here my reviews last a few days and are removed. Apologies to anyone who is disappointed by this product but there is nothing I can do. Alan Davies.

3.0 out of 5 stars Alan Davies Lafter Hours DVD 21 July 2010
By pixie
A little disappointing. From the cover you would expect the content to be reasonably recent, however it was from some time ago... I wish I'd read the review posted by Alan Davies before I'd purchased it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Even worse than that lawyer show he does 11 Dec 2008
Even at this low price this show is a rip off. Forty minutes of dull and poorly delivered stand-up. Alan Davies is a charming and clever comedian and, his move to the world of TV drama, a sad loss to the world of stand-up as his other two excellent releases ably demonstrate . Avoid!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not funny.
If you are after a laugh then this DVD is certainly not for you.

I really like Alan Davies, he's great on QI but this is just not funny.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sad...
The show is a very rough, badly filmed showcase back from very early in Alan Davies carriere. Obviously published to milk his very well-deserved succes on QI. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars No wonder Alan Davies himself did not want this one released!
First off, this isn't even a full length performance, but rather a short 45 minute gig, recorded in a pub back in 1991. Read more

Don't bother wasting your money buying this DVD. Not funny in the slightest. Very disappointing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it
Love Davies in QI and Jonathan Creek but this is simply not funny. Hope to see some standup of his that's more recent than this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality DVD
This is not up to the usual standard of Alan's stuff. Was it directed and edited by a blind/deaf man? Waste of money. At any price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Early stuff but still funny........
This is an early glimpse of a comedian who has become a national favourite. Bad haircut but good gags. Worth the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Side Splitter!
Side splitting stuff from start to finish. Fans of Alan Davies who are only aware of his more recent work should check this out. Shows what a great stand up he is.

4.0 out of 5 stars Early Days but still funny
This is Alan Davies in his early days as a club comic , the style is unmistakable and gets funnier as it goes on after a slow start. Read more
