I purchased this set on the basis of 'value for money' and in that respect, at just £6.99 for six great movies, where's the room for disappointment?
So here's the thing! It clearly states on the box "And Justice For All" is in "1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen" - it wasn't! It's disappointing enough when you don't check first and then find you are sent 4:3, but when you do... Surely the least I can expect is that it "does what it says on the tin"?
So it's going back, though I'll be trying again in the hope this was a dud. And OK, I'm being picky now because I'm irritated, but it wasn't a picture disc, which would be fine except the other five all were; can't I expect a matching set to... well, match at least? And then there's the covers, that look cheap, simple and thrown together in five minutes. Does "value" need to look tacky? No! I've a substantial DVD collection, mainly bought on the cheap, and only these items would give the game away.
Don't get me wrong, this collection is still undoubtedly worth the purchase price and I'd recommend each of the films individually, as long as you are happy to hide the boxes away; you don't want to display these ones that's for sure.
