I am originally from New Zealand where I studied Art and Graphic Design at Wellington Polytechnic School of Design. I also graduated Bachelor of Arts ( English) at Victoria University.
I've worked over the years as a journalist in the New Zealand government, and also as a graphic artist in the Public Relations sector.
Since moving to Queensland Australia, I've worked principally as a self-employed freelance cartoonist. My career has included some interesting jobs, particularly in the outback of Australia. Have you ever tried to paint a mural on the subject of Waltzing Matilda in searing 40C heat ? This was my task at Winton in remote Northern Queensland. It was so hot that my paintbrush stuck to the wall on which I was painting !
I also submit a variety of cartoons to magazines and newspapers including childrens activity puzzles with a cartoon theme. My work has been published in the UK, and also in Australian magazines and newspapers.
I also create stock illustrations for websites such as Shutterstock, in addition to writing and illustrating small picture books for children and these can be found on Kindle. My other interests include travel, photography, Toastmasters, bushwalking and snorkelling.
