Having put together my new pc last year, I was plagued with failures in the cheaper, bog-standard sata cables that I initially installed in the machine.

Within a couple of months my main system hard-drive was playing up and, after swapping cables around, I eventually replaced the cables to both my drives with quite expensive, top quality ones. Then, a while after, one of my optical drives developed a similar annoying habit of suddenly 'disappearing' from the system. Again, changing the cable immediately solved the problem but, to effect a permanent solution, all the remaining cables were changed to these Akasa SATA2-45-SL cables. As a result - no more problems to date.

Moral - cheap standard cables can be a false economy!

How many times has your hard drive or dvd drive 'vanished' because of your slim stiff red sata cable falling out of the socket? Totally solved, got 4 of these in my system and no more problems. Simple, you have to get these!!

Old SATA cables were causing corruptions, replaced with these and it sorted all RAID corruption issues instantly. Cable is bendy and holds it's form, great for routing cables and keeping them out the way.
