The right choice if your laptop / notebook draws air in from its base; and therefore needs a cooler which blows cool air out of its top (the Akasa Gemini product box clearly shows this, to avoid any confusion).
Before I installed this cooler, my notebook would overheat and switch off, after about an hour's use. Since using the cooler, I've had one such instance - and my notebook had been in use for eight hours solid.
Pros -
- Good value;
- Stylish and compact (fits my 15" HP like a glove);
- Efficient, super-quiet fans;
- Two USB ports at the rear (and cabling so that you can power the cooler from your notebook).
Cons -
- The plastic case feels a little flimsy; careful handling suggested.
Overall - I recommend this product.

At last, a laptop cooler that actually fits the width of a 15.4" WXGA laptop. At first I thought that the curvy design might not give a stable surface but my Dell M70 sits firmly and snugly on top and the non-slip feet on the cooler means that it doesn't move around the desk surface. The angled top raises the back of the laptop and I have found this to be surprisingly helpful as the screen is just that little bit higher. The fans are a quiet purr and certainly much less irritating than the laptop fans whining on full blast. The cooling is remarkably effective and has reduced the surface temperature of the bottom of the laptop by over 20 degrees which means that the laptop runs much quieter and is giving no further problems. The cooler is light enough to transport although the wedge design increases the bulk slightly. This is not a cooler for using on your lap without using some sort of tray but this is just too minor a niggle for what is a stylish and very effective product.

Just got it today, when I first plugged it in, the fans were very weak, but it grew stronger after a little while (although could still be stronger lol) It isn't silent either...i'm using a hp dv2899ae and the fan sounds equalvilent to my laptops fan in overdrive...BUT it looks nice and it does distribute the air flow throughout the whole base of laptop which is good for me cause my laptop only gets warm/hot on the left and all the other coolers i could find only blows the air at the centre/back AND it looks great! so overall, a good buy!
