I'm a hoarder, so after going through a few laptop upgrades I've now ended up with a few 2.5 Hard Drives sitting around. They aren't decent enough to be using to run anything off, however, an ideal solution for storing data. I searched extensively at a few possible ways in which I could best achieve this, and found this particular product to best meet my needs. It's subtle, and in my opinion sleek, sitting quietly until I need to call on its services. I am not one for flashy shiny computer parts, just something simple enough for me to forget about.
It was relatively straight forward to install, and sturdy enough where it need be. After all it's going to tucked away hidden inside my case, far from prying hands. Be warned it does have a USB cable that needs to be plugged in, I'm not talking about one of those internal motherboard connectors, no, this has a USB cable found usually on the outside. I am uncertain what they are called. Having no such connector anywhere on the inside of my case I routed the cable round back, outside and plugged it into one of the spare USB ports on the back (outside). I didn't much care for this so eventually found myself 'USB SKT Header', sorry not sure what they're called, but it basically plugs into a spare USB connector on my motherboard and allows for two [external] USBs to be plugged in.
Another user commented on the power cable, again here I was fortunate enough to have a spare molex adapter/converter (spl?) cable so it wasn't an issue for me. But to be honest I'm uncertain as to how much of an inconvenience that might be to others, it might well be that your PSU accommodates for such things.
I would have given it five stars, if not for the USB issue. If you want a basic solution then perhaps this might not be for you, however, if you don't mind a little leg work, or at least the possibility, then I would highly recommend this product.
