Product Description

High performance 14cm fan with S-FLOW blades supplying 30% more airflow than a standard fan at the same speed. The greater performance combined with PWM automatic speed control allows the fan noise to be kept to a minimum. The Viper fan creates more focused airflow providing blind-spot cooling, which makes it an ideal solution for a case or heatsink fan. HDB (Hydro Dynamic) bearings extend fan life and further enhance noise reduction. Killer Viper yellow colour makes this fan distinctive and unique.

These fans are good fans.

The first couple of days they were very quiet, but then I started to notice a mild buzz. It can be easily ignored and when you are doing something on your computer that requires a bit of work; the sound of the buzz can dissipate with the CPU fan speeding up.

EDIT: After a number of days I can't hear any buzzing. I believe it may have just been an off day, or perhaps an odd number of rpm that causes it. None the less a very good fan.

Just got my new 140mm viper! Ordered sunday night, Despatched Monday, here Tuesday with Royal Mail!

I have 7 120mm vipers, but my god the 140mm shift so much air!

You really really need one or two of these, the focus of airflow is so strong!

Wish Akasa did a 200mm version of the vipers!!!

You will not be disappointed!

I replaced the stock fan of the Corsair - Power Supply Unit - Modular Cable - 80Plus Gold - AX1200 - CMPSU-1200AXEU - 1200W, with one of these, it does the job better and with less sound than the Yateloon fan that came with the AX1200. The yellow colour of the fan contrast nicely with AX1200 black, and because it's a pwm fan it will speed up and down, according to how much heat is produce by the PSU, just like the original stock fan of the AX1200.

Shifts a great amount of air, but is rather loud for my sensitive ears. The 12cm vipers are much quieter. The fan mounts are good though, nice and simple installation.

Fantastic fan, with air flow you can really feel. Little noisy when they Ramp up to 1000+ RPM but they are so efficient at 600-800RPM they rarely need to speed up higher. I used a splitter on my CPU four pin PWM to ensure this fan slows down more than the Chassis Fan header was allowing (chassis header kept it running at 40%+ CPU header allows 20%+). Little bit expensive but does a great job, therefore I don't mind. 4/5 due to being slightly pricey when I bought it.

The amount of air these fans push out even at the lowest setting is unreal so if you were looking for a silent option then go with these. If your not too worried about noise the sound levels start to become noticeable at higher RPMs but if like me you wear a headset you barely notice it. Installation was super easy too as it doesn't use screws. 100% would recommend.

I bought this to replace what was actually a new fan a corsair fan no less but after personal testing I found at any given fan speed these move more air. They are not as quite once you start getting past 1200rpm but anything below and they seem fine. I just checked and mine goes upto 1650rpm. which while being noisy shifts a lot of air.

Ok it doesn't look as nice as the one I replaced it with but look ok with a nice glow from my lights. The important bit is it out performs the one I replaced.

I have a total of 7 120mm vipers and this one in my case and when they are just below a 1000rpm I can only just hear them. Unless I bench test and then it is kind of reasuring to know that yes they can be noisy at high rpm's. But to be honest so were the all the others I tried at high rpm's the difference is they push more air than the ones I replaced.

It not that I wasted the other fans either I ended up moving them to another build where they don't need the air movement so much.

If you aren't using a fan controller you will be sorely disappointed with these powerful fans. While they do move a lot of air there is a serious penalty with the noise. I run them at 700rpm and they are perfectly quiet. However on a hot day at 1500rpm the two I bought are very audible but keep things cool.
