Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Super silent 12cm fan with S-Flow blades supplying 30% more airflow than a standard fan at the same speed. The greater performance combined with PWM automatic speed control allows the fan noise to be kept to a minimum. The Apache fan creates more focused airflow providing blind-spot cooling, which makes it an ideal solution for a case or heatsink fan. HDB (Hydro Dynamic) bearings extend fan life and further enhance noise reduction. IP54 military standard ensures the fan is dust and moisture resistant. It's powerful, quiet and tough!PWM is a widely available feature on all current Intel and AMD platform based motherboards. It is more accurate than voltage regulation, energy saving and a fully automatic way of controlling the fan speed. PWM provides ultra quiet acoustics during normal PC use and high performance cooling under high system load.

Product Description

The Akasa Apache is truly silent power!

This fan is based on a hydrodynamic bearing which makes the name perfect - just as stealthy and silent as the helicopter, yet extremely powerful and effective. The included vibration absorbers also help to keep vibrations from being transmitted to the case.

Powerful as a helicopter is also the cooling power! The S-shape of the fan blades and the specially bent shape the Airflow per revolution was dramatically increased. The unique shape of the fan blades also has another positive effect: The Airflow is bundled and directed directly onto the cooled element which makes the Airflow even more effective. This vortex-reduced Airflow makes this fan especially effective for application on radiators and CPU coolers.

The design is just as unique as the performance of this fan and gives a special touch to any system!

I purchased 2 of these to replace the standard Corsair fans that come with the H70 CPU Watercooler.
The standard corsair fans were very noisy and not very efficiant with a flow of less than 40cfm.

These Akasa Apache's are just incredible, they run at full speed @ 12v and in a push pull oriantation with the dual thickness radiator inbetween them they hardly make a sound.#
The Airflow is great and they have bought Idle and Load temps down by around 6oC due to the focused direction of airflow that the design of the fins creates and the huge volume of air they move through the radiator (60cfm)

I would reccomend these fans to anyone who wants to have plenty of cooling on any 120mm fan placement and near silent operational noise (The quietest fans I have ever heard at full speed!!!)

Like I say they suit Radiators for Watercooling perfectly due to the focused airflow, high capacity and low noise but would also work just as well as input and output fans in any location on a PC case.

If you need a 120mm fan then look no further, these are what you need. If your PC is noisy due to having several 120mm fans running non stop then again replace them with these and you will increase your airflow AND lower your noise output.

10/10

This fan is very quiet even at its top speed of 1300 rpm, it comes with its own silicone mounts and the quality of the fan's blade, frame and colour is top class, I have been running this on my motherboard for the last few days via the PWM fan connecter and the akasa pwm adaptor with 2 more pwm fans plus the cpu pwm fan itself, and its all good and very quiet now, when I upgrade my motherboard this fan will be plugged straight in without adaptors into the 4 pin fan connectors so this fan is very future proof too.

a full reccomendation for a quietly cooled PC case, especially through PWM 4 pin motherboard connection setup

akasa apache review 14 Sep 2009
Oh yes! this a the best fan i have ever bought.
Better than the Noctua nf-p12 which it replaces and
better than the Scythe Gentle Tyhoon which i am still
using as a front intake fan.
The Noctua which was used on my Scythe Mugen2 CPU Cooler
is not a PWM fan so i am now using it as an
exhaust fan at the rear of my pc.
They are all conrolled by my asus motherboard and keep
my overclocked phenom2 965 cpu at 27 idle and 45 degrees C
under load.
This combination of fans has reduced my pc temps by about
5 degrees and the more importantly it is alot quieter than
before.
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy to install. Fan silent and powerful. Needed an extension lead for my MoBo but that is due to my setup and no way reflects on the fan or supplied cable which is first class. Read more

Superb
This single fan replaced 2x120mm corsair fans on the Corsair A70 cooler. It makes next to no noise and delivers the same amount of cooling as both of my old corsair fans. Read more

Effective and quiet
It's very effective as a cooling fan, really quiet and seems well made.

The cable on mine was 29cm, which I would have thought was a good length.
