Entrepreneur-style games are fairly plentiful, but Airline Tycoon definitely sticks out.
Most noticeable are the quirky cartoon-style graphics. But before you look away this really does make the game far better than most other sims out there, simply because it makes you feel like your in the game far more. There is something a little unrealistic about games where you sit with tables of data trying to balance them all.
Having said that, there are a few people who might get irritated with the way the game works. I suppose there are some people who would claim having to direct your character to certain places in the airport and waiting for him/her to walk there is tedious, but i think it is more fun, more challenging and if you don't like it there are cheats to reduce the pain, and items available to you such as a laptop which makes life a lot easier as you can arrange things anywhere.
The plot of it all is to run an airline (hence the game name), and you are in charge of obtaining contracts and routes, buying planes and everything else imaginable. Actually, it has far more potential for doing what you want than for example Airlines.
The game does crash a little more often than my other games, but my computers not brilliant and I suspect most people wouldn't have a problem. The only other nag is that it does ask you to type in security codes whilst playing just a little too often, but otherwise this game plays very well and it is a credit to its designers.
