Product Description

Product Description

In 1968, the Apollo Applications Program was created to look into science missions that could be performed with the surplus Apollo hardware. Much of the planning centered on the idea of a space station, which eventually spawned the Skylab program. Skylab was launched using a two-stage Saturn V, sometimes called a Saturn INT-21. It was the only launch not directly related to the Apollo lunar landing program.

In May 1973 Skylab was launched using a two-stage Saturn V, sometimes called a Saturn INT-21.[2] It was the only launch not directly related to the Apollo lunar landing program. Three crews lived aboard Skylab from May 25, 1973 to February 8, 1974, with Skylab remaining in orbit until July 11, 1979.

Great model kit of the Saturn V Skylab which DOES contain the parts for previous Apollo Saturn V missions (stated as being missing by a previous reviewer). Together with the new, well produced & detailed Skylab shroud, instruction and decal sheet this will produce a splendid model of this version of the Saturn V rocket in launch configuration.

While I am new to building 'real space models' I cannot comment on the accuracty of this kit but I do feel it is well produced & is of good quality and value for money compared to other kits I have purchased over the years in this price range.

Ps comes with decals for Skylab version only.

This kit is a nice one. Also not really difficult to build. It came very quickly by post (belgium) and in pristine condition. All time airfix classic!

I purchased this for my nephew's birthday as he is rocket crazy! It arrived on the IoW next day and at 9.30am (which is unusual), it was well packaged and all intact. He has been having fantastic fun with it and its a great size

This can be built either straight from the box or can be updetailed with aftermarket resin parts for nearly everything. I chose a middle way and with some web research and much masking tape was able to make something I was pleased with after about 15 hours work. It goes without saying that the instructions, most especially the painting instructions, need to be read and understood to avoid silly mistakes.
