This military workhorses did a tremendous job but never got the publicity of its more glamorous cousins. It could carry bombs; act as a transport, be used for photo-reconnaisance and it rescued, usually when the normal aircraft for these roles were unavailable for both the USN and the USCG. This tremendous utility aircraft was flown by many countries after the war.

Having been an aircraft engineer in the past, I've now settled for building model aircraft. This model first appeared in a movie Murphys War and inspired me to choose a carrer in aircraft.
Good small model and I'm always astounded by the detail in Airfix models.

Deja Vu all over again 5 Feb. 2013

I hope you can bera the title pun!

I must have made this model 50 years or so ago. I love query plying boats and amphibs and the Americans seemed to specialize in 'em. The instructions are certainlyt different than back then. Haven't made it yet but looks a simple and straightforward build. I'll do the Argentinian colors - haven't done one for that country before.

Enjoy it.

It looks like it will be fun to put together. New and shrink wrapped. Parts look good and looking forward to building it.
