For many years, the Airfix Lancaster was the best one to buy and build.
While it's still accurate in dimensions and outline, it is surpassed in detail, fit and complexity by newer and more detailed models from Revell (the new tool version) and Hasegawa. The Revell is also cheaper. The Airfix is easer to build than the newer kits, but has lots of rivets which look a bit odd unless you sand them down a bit. Turrets are necessarily pretty light on detail, which is to be expected given the age of the tooling. The major advantage of this kit is that it's the basis of almost every conversion set, such as the Manchester, York and Mark II conversions from Paragon and other companies. As such, the conversion parts probably won't fit the more modern kits. Decals are OK, with three options.

This is a great product- but I disappointed there was not even any glue included in the pack for the price.

I think this airfix is a great model overall. it has interior and exterior detail. it is a big model (like really big!!!) but there are some minor draw backs, there are no men in the turrets or bomb aimers but there are 2 men in the cockpit. paints and glue are not included. highly recommended for a experienced modeler but you doon't need to be a profetional to make a good job of it. highly x1000 recommended
