5.0 out of 5 stars Aircraft Communications and Navigations systems 25 Mar 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
A good resource for those studying Part-66 B2 modules bringing together a wide range of systems. It covers each topic in an easy to read straight forward manner bringing out the salient points of topics that could easily be overwhelming to first timers. The chapter on ATC mode S is particularly well covered in detail not found in other books. Being the first edition though there are a few glaring errors that may throw those new to the content. I emailed these details to the author to help second edition and got a great response thanks Mike. There is also a website to accompany book with better pictures and audio material to enforce literature.

5.0 out of 5 stars very instructive and pedagogical 24 Feb 2009
By Ramses
Format:Paperback
I really like this book. I am an engineer working in aeronautical telecommunications and I have found this title extremely well written, accurate, pedagogical (solved exercises!), and relevant. The authors have done a very good job and I recommend this book to all interested in an introduction to CNS and avionics. More advanced books may be consulted after this one (Kayton for instance). Recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good - but could be better 8 Nov 2009
By Samuel E. Benson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Overall the entire series of books by Mike Tooley are excellent learning material for the EASA Part 66 avionics exams.

My sticking points are the number of errors in both the text (bidirectional is two ways, not one way) and the errors in the answers to the mulitple choice questions. If you can read between the errors and understand the correct answers to the MCQ then the book is good way to study.

I have tried looking for errata sheets for any of the series but so far I have had no luck.
