Cinema for the pocket

Aiptek offers probably one of the smallest projectors in the world. The Pocket Cinema T10 is actually in the truest sense, a mini projector for your pocket. Weighing only 160 grams and the mobile phone-like dimensions of only 125mm x 59mm x 25mm, the Pocket Cinema T10 is ideal for mobile applications such as in business travel for meetings and presentations in small groups or in the private sector, for the quick slide show of images with friends to watch videos or to connect a game console.

AIPTEK PocketCinema T10

Project video, photos, TV

The resolution of the Pocket Cinema T10 is 640 x 360 pixels in 16:9 format. The projection size from 6 inch to 50 inch (13cm to about 130cm) depends on the lighting conditions of the environment and can be adjusted by the projection distance (about 21cm to 180cm). With its LED the PocketCinema T00 reach a brightness value of 6 lumens. Through the use of modern technology, the LED lamps life expectancy achieve up to 10,000 hours. Via AV-in connection devices such as DVD player, settop boxes, camcorders, game consoles, mobile phones, iPad, iPhone or iPod can be connected. You can project any content from the connected device. Such content can be photos, videos or other content and at any time and any place under appropriate lighting conditions this content can be projected.

AIPTEK PocketCinema T10

Mobile applications

With the included Li-Ion Battery of the Pico Pocket Cinema projector T10 it can be used anywhere. If the battery is fully charged, the tiny projector can operate without additional power for about 60 minutes or more. Thus, there is the possibility to playback videos, pictures or other content anywhere and anytime. And there's no issue about carrying of accessories, such as a power supply.

AIPTEK PocketCinema T10

Complete accessories

The package content of the Pocket Cinema T10 is quite impressive. In the package is not only the pico projector, but also a Li-Ion battery, AC adapter, a 3-in-1 AV cable, a tripod-stand and a Quick Start Guide.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for serious use for presentations - useless in fact!, 22 Nov 2009

I bought this to carry in my briefcase thinking it would be a useful back-up when needing to do Powerpoint or similar presentations. First problem was that it does not come with the necessary leads to connect to a laptop as one needs an S-Video lead and/or a VGA connector.
Second, don't worry about the lead though as it's too dim and weak to be useful - I can't imagine who thought this was suitable for presentations let alone video projection as even with it 20-30 inches from a reflective white wall and with the lights off, it was still to dim to be practical or professional. In pitch black, in a power-cut maybe.
I'm sending this back and until the brightness is at least equal to a small desk-top projector - albeit over a shorter distance - I won't bother again.
Conclusion: a gimmick - nice idea, but not ready for prime time.

2.0 out of 5 stars small but seemingly pointless, 14 Mar 2010
This review is from: Aiptek T10 Pocket Cinema Projector (Electronics)
I bought this item, to use for mobile presentations. I have since bought a larger and better unit.

this projector does not really support decent laptop output, nor is it very bright requiring almost complete darkness to be viable.

Pointless both for powerpoint and movie projection, it does however seem to handle digital stills directly from a camera relativly well but that really does seem to be its limit.

Connections to this device are overly complex and time consuming. They could have made use of the USB connection to allow PC connectivity but this is used only as a charging point.

I suppose there must be a plus point somewhere and here it is - this unit does come with a quite versitile little tripod stand which is useful (although I use it with my camera not this unit), it seems a really expensive way to buy a tripod stand however.

To sum it all up in one sentence - save your money for a slightly larger more powerful unit like the Optoma projectors

I bought this item hoping to use as a big monitor for presentations and movie watching, but found out that it has to be pitch black in the room to view even the brightest parts of the projected content. Its ok for projecting in small screen sizes but not a great idea for friday-night movie watching.
