I'm a late arrival in the Dead Can Dance world, and I am now regretting my tardiness. This is an extraordinary work, covering a range of styles and periods, but as a whole fitting into none of them. I've not heard anything quite like this.

In other reviews, the dread term "Goth" has turned up. Why, for God's sake!? Presumably because they are on 4AD and have a daft name, but please ...

There is no category that applies here, but if you like Gregorian Chant, Celtic and Eastern European folk music (Martya Sebestyn for instance) and, er, great music, you won't go far wrong.

A joy from start to finish - and beautifully recorded.

This is an enchanting C.D and a must for anyone with an interest in all things mystical and magical. I found myself transported to another era and totally inspired in my art-work.I first heard of this band as a recomendation from my brother and since recomended it to friends whom all find it awe-inspiring.The artists are a couple who inhabit a converted church where they make most of their recordings, hence the really good accoustics. I totally recomend this one. Brilliant!
