Format:Audio CD
This album is something of an oddity - after all, if you want a collection of Peggy Lee songs, why go elsewhere than the diva herself?
However, "Ain't This Cosy" is a lot more than a Stars In Your Eyes-type imitation. Kate Dimbleby's voice is remarkably like Ms Lee's, but rather than concentrating on a forced impersonation she concentrates on getting the best out of the songs. This is a task she makes appear uncannily easily, ably assisted by the relaxed charm of the Geoff Eales Trio. The result is a classic album, presenting some immortal numbers in a fresh, while timeless, manner.

Having seen the show in London, I was hoping that it would be released on CD and this wholly lives up and revisits the show, with dialogue and the smooth satin voice of Ms Lee as portrayed by K Dimbleby. If you appreciate good easy music, this is one not to be missed.
