Slash has always been one of my idols and when i bought this album i was bit pretencious about how it may have turned out because the 1st Snakepit album was less than impressive!
But i was amazed when i heard this album because of it's originality and it has a very good front man as the 1st Snakepit album had Eric Dover who in my opinion was not a very good singer! This album had a more bluesyer aproach to rock than GN'R does, it has a very original sound and has lost that GN'R sound (which is a good thing for a new band coz you can't be original and sound like another band) GN'R have always been one of my favourite bands and i'd hate to see someone try and recreate the GN'R phenomenon which i think the 1st album tried to do!
But Slash has learnt from his mistakes and this Snakepit album is amazing! it has very fast and original solo's, creative riffs and licks!
The album has contrast of fast rockers, ballads and Heavy Rockers! My favourite Solo is from "Life's Sweet Drug" which is extremely fast its almost as if its not being done by human fingers! "Back To Moment" didn't really appeal to me first of all but it grew on me and is now one of my fabourite Rock Ballads of all time (up there with Sweet Child O'Mine).
It just oozes out originality, and potential if this album had been carried on with and, this Snakepit created more and got better known i think they would have done very well!
Rod Jackson particualrly impressed me with his powerfull voice! And Ryan Roxie is a promising guitarist! This album has the potential to go a long way but seeing as Slash is now in Velvet Revolver i doubt it will be carried on further!
10/10 for this album! BUY IT!

Slash has always been one of my idols and when i bought this album i was a bit pretencious about how it may turn out since the last snakepit album was less than impressive! However i was delighted to hear this album as it has a new line up of members, Rod Jackson especially impressed me with his original and powerfull voice, and Slash was as ever amazing! His solo's were fast, powerfull and had that gn'r edge to it which the last snakepit album missed!
The music is alot different to GN'R but then why shouldn't it be?! The songs have alot more bluesyer ring to it which was an original rock sound (for me atleast)!and i would say this is a must buy album as sice ive had it hasn't been out of my cd player! Slash once again has impressed with his original riffs, solo's etc! but all the praise shouldnt go down to just SLASH as amazing rock god he is but Rod Jackson, and eveyone else who appear in this album have alot to be praised with! there arent that many albums that ive heard that are this original and have that edge to it that alot of rock misses 10/10 to it! BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!

Once upon a time 80's synth sounds were all the rage, til 1 man and his band came along a changed it all, that man was SLASH, and now he's back, with his top hat, his cig and a low slung les paul still frimly in place, the riffs are there, the sounds are there, but best of all the ROCK is there. From Been There Lately to the Alien, you wont b able to put down your air guitar. If you like Slash buy it, if you dont like him buy it anyway, because THE TRUTH is you'd b an ALIEN not to, JUST LIKE ANYTHING that Slash has done b4 it Rocks the world. AINT IT GRAND!!!

totally over-rated by the other reviewers
If you are hoping that Slash's band will recreate some of the G&R majic, think again. This is mediocre, trashy american rock at it's worst. Read more
