CLARENCE "FROGMAN"/"TOADMAN" HENRY in 1961 had two big hit U.K. singles-his biggest[and best],was a great rocker[both sides are just brilliant]-"[I DON'T KNOW WHY]BUT I DO" / "JUST MY BABY AND ME" upon it's release it was stormin' up the charts, and rockin' in the top 3. Another good single would peak at number 6. with-"YOU ALWAYS HURT THE ONE YOU LOVE" / "LITTLE SUZY" I actually prefer the "B" side, but the "A" side had been a U.K.top twenty hit for-CONNIE FRANCIS-in 1958.
Many other great songs are on this 18 track CD,including-"AIN'T GOT NO HOME"-a 1956,recording,but released in U.K. in 1957,[but it was a non-charter here],other classic rockers are-"LONELY STREET" "STANDING IN THE NEED OF LOVE" "ON BENDED KNEES" from '61/'62 amongst others.
Clarence Henry's recordings had great rockin' backing music, saxophones/pianos etc[just listen to "both" sides of his classic top 3. smash hit single-both sides are rockers],and are very similar in style to the classic recordings of the great and legendary-FATS DOMINO-the "NEW ORLEANS" Sound-both legends come from that same deep south state as well.
The CD also comes with an informative 16 pages booklet, with photos, about this American singer and his classic recordings.
