Product Description

Harry Knowles is the iconoclast founder of the movie newsbuzz Website, "aintitcool.com". Used by over 1.5 million users daily, the site is a resource as to what is and isn't happening in the film industry, sneak previews, hunches, and unreliable gossip."Ain't It Cool?" is the story of how Harry, a college dropout weaned on films and bedridden by an accident, started the Web site from his bedroom in Austin, Texas. In just four years he has crashed the insider world of Hollywood to become one of the most powerful and feared men in show business, with fans such as Bruce Willis and Quentin Tarantino. Spies report to Harry from movie sets and test screenings, he analyzes their comments, lambasts the industry on a regular basis and defends the viewer's right not to be forced to watch trash, but also leads site visitors to films they might never have guessed would be the gems they are.Using his own story as a springboard for his life-long obsession with films and how they're made - the good, the bad, and the ugly - "Ain't It Cool?" is the story of a movie geek getting a place at Hollywood's most exclusive table. The book includes lists of top ten and worst ten movies of all time, and to

No, it is not as good as i thought. It can drag along at one boring pace after another. Harry Knowles can go on and on, until i just flip a few pages and get to something better. This book is piled with unecerssary rubbish. Yes, i go on his site often and i find that his reviews can be a bit like that. But i expected the book to be a tad more exciting then that.

But!! There is some juicy movie info in there. Some really inventive stuff it's just a shame that it so hidden that i found it hard to find it. But give it some time and you will find it, but then i'm just too tired to bother with it!

I have been searching, reading and enjoying ain'titcoolnews.com for along time now. I watched it evolve, grow and grown into what it is now. If you can find anyone as big as a movie 'geek' is, then I will eat my computer. I don't know how his brain can keep in all that information is beyond me! His reviews are brilliant, inthralling and riddled with movie knowledge. Just like the book!!

If you said 'yes' to the above title/question then you will like this book, but will probably not read it more then twice. If you love movies and you go on to the website ain'titcoolnews.com then you will love this book. It shows his life, his love for movies and everything movies.

This book was a blast of fresh air and i was surprised again on how much movie knowledge he can actualy hold in that brain of his. I recommend this book to any movie fan! When you put this down, i promise you that you will know why he is the most hated man in hollywood and how he did it without even being bad!!
