Why people have been in awe of sheryl Crow and Alanis, and completely overlooked the incredibly talented Aimee Mann completely astounds me... She doesn't whinge and cringe like the latter, and is more lively (tough understated) that the former. And live.... well I saw her at the O2 Indigo and suffice to say that it was one of the most emotional and characterful concert I have seen... In this CD, you can feel the pain and hurts, but also some really nice riffs of guitars (not hers though I think, she plays acoustic mainly...) It is a truly EXCELLENT live performance. No gimmicks, just great voice, great music, great athmosphere. Highly recommended!

I have no idea why Aimee Mann continues to inhabit the netherworld of pop's fringe; she has a rare gift for a rhyming couplet and a knack of writing sinuous tunes that get in your head and won't come out for days. It's a quality combination.
There is a melancholic edge to her songs, and they are almost exclusively studies in human relationships, but they are damned good all the same. This is a good buy because of the DVD content - it gives you something more than her albums can do alone. It tells you she's got a good line in witty self deprecating anecdotes, and it tells you she's got a fine touring band - nothing flashy, just right. The production quality is also very good, and the DVD looks excellent on anything from a notebook to a big plasma TV, with tasty sound to match. It's not as involving as (say) Stop Making Sense but it's an easy on the eye watch. Only regret - no Red Vines on the CD itself, boo hoo. Personal standout: Amateur for the bassline.
So here's the bottom line; top tunes played well and immaculately produced and filmed. What more could you ask for - except a more forgiving price? Worth justifying it to yourself, honestly.
