From the word go, the book grabs your attention. The descriptive opening chapters really get the reader hooked. Once the plot unfolds you find yourself in some weird sort of fixation, just eager to read more. I highly recommbed this book to anyone. It's easy going and extremely enjoyable. It may make you question your beliefs, but I sure will make you raise a smile!!

I read this "novella" as a fan of Andrew Scott's science books, including "Pirates of the Cell" and "Molecular Machinery." This roughly 3-hour read is about Scott's encounter with Aileen, a little green alien from another planet (spoiler alert.... though the book implies that she might also be from right next door, depending upon the way we interact with space and time.) As Scott works his way through the story, he teaches us about the way the universe works, the interaction of chemical particles (or waves?) with each other and energy, and even a little bit about evolution. The ending is satisfying, leaving the possibility for more novellas. That'd be neat.

Andrew MacLaren Scott has created a world that I would like to spent a lot more time in. And Aileen is a being I'd like to get to know better. If you were a fan of Asimov magazine, or Analog magazine, this story is for you!
