How do you start a review of a classic RRB? I didn't get mine from Amazon because my calf size 'petite' wasn't listed, I also had the top Ecuyer model which I couldn't keep since the calf was the next size up 'M' also my heel was moving too much when worn. The sizing chart is found on Aigle's website Aigle.com.
The difference between the Start and the Ecuyer is the latter are leather lined at the top of the boot, a nice luxury but expensive when the Ecuyer is double the price. If you really like this feature you might consider the Harry Hall boot but they are not soft and flexible like Aigle boots. Aigle call it their 'Slush' technology and it really makes for a comfortable wear and it's easier to keep your heels down in the stirrups there's no 'spring' effect. The flexibility should make these boots last longer too, they are nearly a year old and still looking like new where my Hunter boots lasted 7 months and BeOnly boots 3 months. When these boots finally need replacing I'll either get another pair or dig deep and get the Ecuyer in my size now I know what that is. It will probably be the sole that wears through, they show no signs of cracking or splitting.
I wear mine constantly most days whether riding or mucking out, walking the dogs or just pottering about, even to go shopping! They are so versatile and easily cleaned with a soft hand brush under the outside tap. During the cold weather and deep snow they were really warm. I care for them with 'Fairfield's Boot Buff' which is an amazing product at a bargain price.
