An important character in the book is, as described in the book, a `very stoopy man, who walked a bit lame, had an old soft hat pulled well down over his face, a long overcoat with the shoulders very square, small feet for his size, a funny hand...'
He has two fingers missing and it a nasty dognapper; he is also involved in the theft of a lot of the dogs in town.
At the beginning of the book, Susie is being a bit naughty with things to do with the Secret Seven Society but I think that, just for one book, she should have been allowed to a meeting.
As the fifth book in the series, this story is the best in the whole series. It nicely paves the way for a series of similar but a bit more complex stories to come. I would rate this book: 8.5/10.
