Product Description

Product Description

Agralan Enviromesh Crop Protection Netting provides considerable protection against wind, hail and heavy rain. The Crops tend to be earlier and suffer less from physical damage they also tend to need less water under drought conditions. The crop may be watered (or fed with liquid fertiliser) through the mesh. The mesh will also give some frost protection. It is particularly effective in protecting mature vegetables (e.g. cauliflower and calabrese) from autumn frosts.

The Enviromesh crop protection is an excellent product. It's lightweight so is easy to use. It protects ground plants and can be used to make effective covers for fruit trees. The great benefit is that water goes through the mesh so easily, whether it be rainwater or watering can/hose. I'm in the process of making a framework to cover the cherry tree, with flaps to enable easy picking of fruit (which the birds enjoyed last year, pecking through the ordinary garden mesh! They won't get their beaks through this year!!)

This mesh keeps all animals out of my garden patch. It is very strong and can be cut to size if a smaller area is to be covered.

This is a really good product. I've bought two now as they really work. At the moments I've got them both covering cabbages, brocalli and brussels, held up by canes, but will get 2x2 wood next year. Not only does it keeps out insects, but acts almost like a polytunnel. Everything has grown well and looks really healthy. I would recommend it to any gardener who wants to protect their crops. Not so good if crops have flowers due to polination but good to use at first to give them a good start. I'll probably buy another one next summer.

I've used this for a number of years. It's good for keeping damaging wind off crops and it does keep pretty much all pests out. I've found it can however promote mildew on some plants by reducing the air circulation, so use with care on susceptible plants, Also the first one I bought was holed by badgers so it's not so animal resistant as it claims, not everyone has a badger problem though. The rain does weigh it down a bit and water doesn't just pass straight through although the plants don't seem to be harmed, but some plants can be pressed down and the leaves distorted if they are not very strong. I could also do with one a bit wider, like 2.5 metres by 3m would be good.

Useful product - will probably last longer than 1 season, as it is quite tough, with nice, wide, reinforced borders. Comes in a pretty generous width. Seems a bit more expensive than buying yardage off the roll in your local garden centre, but it is wider than most. I've used it on my raised beds, with the Flexiball and garden cane technique, to make a nice cage. I'm hoping it will deter the caterpillars this time. I found that it created a protective micro climate when I covered my house-raised little plants out, and they did well, with no need to harden off.

Far better than fleece, air and water and sunshine get through easier, but the pests don't. Very pleased with it
