I found this double CD at an excellent price on Amazon, containing four full albums by Magna Carta, a three piece band. Each of the albums would be worth buying individually, especially 'Seasons' which contains a suite of songs for the yearly cycle from Autumn through to Summer, and includes an appearance by Rick Wakeman on keyboards, but all four at once is a bargain.

The other albums are 'Songs From Wasties Orchard', summertime folk rock with Davey Johnstone on guitars, who now plays with Elton John; 'Lord Of The Ages', originally with an album cover by Roger Dean, and 'Martin's Cafe'. Chris Simpson, the man at the heart of Magna Carta, is still going strong and the band played at Fairport's Cropredy festival in 2002. Their songs, such as 'Ring Of Stones', 'Two Old Friends' or 'Airport Song' are still as mellow as ever.

My all time fave groups are Fleetwood Mac, the Moody Blues and E.L.O. but Magna Carta easily make my top 10. I have been a fan since borrowing the records in the early seventies and the tapes I made (for personal use only) from them have long since 'worn out'.
This is a fantastic bargain with 4 L.P.'s for a very low price. Even if you have never heard of them (especially if you like Simon and Garfunkel and light folk/rock) you should give them a try! Lord of the Ages will blow you away!

A surprisingly good album from a relatively little known band. I never get tired of this album.
