With one geographical error in the opening description of flying in and out of the airfield I was expecting a difficult read. Little Barford's power station with its chimney lies almost due north, and not Great Barford which lies almost due west from the airfield, caused me some concern about accuracy.
However, the amount of painstaking research and the careful reconstruction of the events that took place at RAF Tempsford more than made up for the early error.
A great read for anyone with any sort of interest in SOE and/or the exploits of Squadrons 138 and 161 will marvel at the detail and commentary surrounding the workings of Tempsford 1942-45.
Freddie Clark is modest concerning his brief time there, but his praise for his co-workers on this base is excellent.
Highly recommended to historians of the operations and achievements of this non-existant airbase!!
