A cocaine snorting liability was hung out to dry and lost the promised pot of gold, so he had a story to tell and some cash to recoup. Good luck to him. But there's Morten sitting in the fish restaurant next to the fish market in Aden... looking out over the bay where the Cole was attacked. The only fish market / restaurant outfit in Aden is in Sirah, the harbour where the Cole was bombed is 8km to the west - and beyond a pretty decent hill.
In conversation with his nemesis Abdul "He grabbed me by the shoulder. "That's when you were you going to be killed. They'll tell the world you were a terrorist like the others." " and on the next page says Abdul didn't seem to have any inkling he might be working for western intelligence.
But the chapter closer on p270 is convincing. The CIA would never acknowledge that a Dane working under Danish government handlers had led them to Awlaki, because that would implicate the Danes in an assassination. The book sets that in context, and it is important. But no, its not as clean as it should be.
