Product Description

Cody Banks (Muniz) seems like a typical teenager but Cody has a really big secret even his family and best friends don't know: he's actually an elite undercover agent for the CIA.

From Amazon.co.uk

Agent Cody Banks is a wish-fulfilment adventure for James Bond wannabes who are still too young to shave. Just in time for puberty's curtain call, Malcolm in the Middle's Frankie Muniz stars in the title role as a 15-year-old recruit to the CIA's youth-agent programme, who gets what millions of men desire: a face full of Angie Harmon's cleavage. (It's just for laughs; the sexy Law & Order alumnus plays Cody's CIA handler, but you've got to admit this Bond Girl with a boy thing is a bit perverse.) Otherwise, the movie's a low-rent Bond clone from the director of One Night at McCool's, with a pair of twisted villains (Ian McShane, Arnold Vosloo) threatening to unleash stolen "Nanobot" technology that can ruin everyone's day. It's barely fun enough to be worthwhile, but the best gag (at 007's expense) is buried in the soundtrack, when a CIA receptionist announces, "Will the owner of a silver Aston Martin please report to security... you are parked in a handicapped zone". So much for respecting your elders! --Jeff Shannon

When i saw this film at the cinema it was brilliant (and i went twice!) but when i got the DVD it was even better
For just ONE DVD it has superb extras. A very entertaining and informative director/ actor commenteray of the film, directors diary (following the writing to the filming, special effects to the film premiere) behind the scenes footage of rehearsals, filming. How they created the music, special effects plus a whole host of other things
Moving onto the film- very entertaining, great performances from frankie muniz, hilary duff and angie harmon
This is my favourite DVD ever- and not just because of the film. All in all, one of the best DVDs i have ever bought, well worth the money

This is the best teenage agent film EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Muniz plays a brillant role, he is one of the best actors staring in Malcolm in the Middle. Duff brings in most of the views. This is brillantly planned and the gadgets are great!!!

BUT... the best reason is because it so back-achingly funny!!

Agent Cody banks was absolutley great. Both Frankie Muniz and Hilary Duff were excellent and the rest of the cast supported them very well. A great overall movie - perfect to sit down and watch on a wet afternoon. A pity that Cody Banks 2 wasn't as good though.

A great fast, fun, clean and enjoyable movie. Its a shame the book was not as good, but this film is great, yes the actor does a big part in the movie and carries the film. It may not be a classic, but is full of fun and well worth watching. Cody is like Jason Steed, Alex Rider a young 007, teen spy.

Cody is a 15 year old schoolboy recruited into the CIA, he is athletic, resourceful and has terrific martial arts, skateboarding, snowboarding and stunt driving skills, yet he is totally inept talking to girls. Yet that is one skill he really needs for his first mission - to befriend class beauty Natalie Connors whose father is a scientist working with nanotechnology that could destroy the world. The movie has a polished, high-tech look, with gadgets and cool cars, and there are plenty of amazing stunts and action. The story is excellent too, as well as his assignment and adventures, Cody also goes on an emotional journey. Natalie is his first love and that complicates his mission. Essentially this is James Bond with the exception of Cody's ineptitude with the opposite sex - this leads to plenty of amusing scenes. The stunts and action sequences are as good as in a lot of Bond movies - a particular stunt highlight is Cody's terrific snowboard chase in the vicinity of megalomaniac villain Brinkman's mountain lair. Though essentially aimed at young people and a teenage boy's dream, this is an action comedy movie the whole family can enjoy, adults will probably love it too! Cody's skills even include being an expert with the frying pans. His terrific skateboarding action near the start sets us up for one awesome adventure.

Frankie Muniz is excellent as Cody, doing many of his own stunts, and he plays the part with an interesting mix of confidence and vulnerability. For example, he's all action and bravery, yet almost in tears of confusion when taken off the mission and instructed to stay away from Natalie. His face says it all - I love the way Cody walks round his new school clutching his class timetable, I remember that. Hilary Duff is absolutely stunning and gorgeous as Natalie.

The world is threatened to be nano-botted. The technologist for the bad guys can only be reached through his teenage daughter. Naturally the CIA has anticipated this situation and call on their deep cover agent trained in two years ago at the age of 13 to infiltrate and recover data vital to our nation's security. All he has to do is cotton up to the daughter. There is just one problem when he sees a beautiful girl his head is full of cotton. There are a few good phony explosion scenes.

There is no real target audience. No well formed thoughts or follow through. The actors do not even try to act. The premise is lame.

If you really enjoy this genre then you really should watch "If Looks could Kill" (1991).
