Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is the third Agatha Christie Seek and Find game I have played, and I would rank it in the middle of the three. It is not as challenging - and, thus, entertaining - as Agatha Christie: Death On The Nile (PC CD), but it betters Dead Man's Folly in both gameplay and storytelling. In fact, Peril at End House is probably the best - and certainly the most engaging - mystery of the three. Playing this type of the game at convenient moments across several days can make it somewhat difficult to keep up with characters' identities, behaviors, and motives, but this game came the closest (of the three I've played) to putting me in Hercule Poirot's shoes.

Like all Agatha Christie Seek and Find games, the puzzles are beautifully done, with the assortment of hidden objects varying from the obvious to the devilishly hard to find. Here, you are examining various scenes in and around the End House estate and the well-to-do neighborhood surrounding it. Early on, the gameplay is fairly easy, as you have the standard twenty-five minutes to find 30 to 40 hidden objects per level. As the number of locations and hidden objects increase, however, the difficulty level also rises a few notches, and I have to admit it took me several attempts to finally conquer the final level - and solve the mystery. You are given the luxury of having five objects revealed for you on each level, so you don't have to despair if you find yourself completely unable to locate an object or two along the way -don't be ashamed to use them when you need them. Once you do succeed at finding all of the objects on a certain level, you're presented with one of various types of puzzles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Peril at End House- a hidden object game 28 July 2010

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I am aa HUGE fan of the Hidden Object genre and reckon the ones based on the Poiret detective novels to be among the best. As you not ony have to find the afore-mentioned objects but you also have to crack safes, assemble radios etc in the quest to the find the killer.

The screen shots are sharp and the characters are similar to the actors who played the parts in the tv series. One aspect of the game I liked is that you can play it several times as the objects to be found change from every room. There is a nice mix of outside and inside 'rooms' and real life action ( such as a Mouse running across the screen or a flag waving).

The feel of the game is also correct for the time period in which the game is et, cameras look like the cameras of the 1930's as do the cars etc. My only quibble is that the game seems to be geared toward the US market as they ues Americanisms for some the objects, I spent AGES trying to find a durned "squash" only it was a ruddy courgette. However I do think this game is fun to play and is re-playable too.

I also own the Death on the Nile Hidden object game and think this is the better one. Agatha Christie: Death On The Nile (PC CD)

4.0 out of 5 stars No Perils with Peril at End House 12 Oct 2009

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
M Poirot is always a popular figure and Poirot fans will be happy with this version of Peril at End House. As a point and click game it is a good one to start with if you have never played this type of game before. The objects to find are more obscure than the previous Poirot outing down the Nile but they are not impossible. Again the extra puzzles in between finding objects are OK. Overall I enjoyed the game and hope the producers publish a new Poirot game soon.

3.0 out of 5 stars More hidded objects 9 April 2010

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I was looking forward to getting this game, but it was a let down when I realised it was a "Hidden" object game. I was expecting a point and click adventure like "Evil under the sun". If you like finding objects then you will love this game. All in all it is a nice relaxing game but much prefer to have my brain thinking about puzzles and stuff.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good game but ... 16 Jan 2012
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is a good game for any fans of Agatha Christie, but make sure you've read the book or seen the film before playing it.

This is rather a "find the hidden objects" game than anything, which can be fun, but there's no actual mystery solving (not really anyway). Plus, the ending to the game/film/novel is revealed in the end, so if you haven't read the book, do so first because you won't enjoy discovering the mystery through this game alone. It's good to play it once, but after that you probably won't be playing it again.

You will need a lot of patience with this game. Interesting but tends to be very long winded with all the conversations, etc. Still quite a good game but heavy going at times.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing game 2 Dec 2012
By Pauline

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
This was an incredibly disappointing game. I thought it would be a "point and click" game with clues, different scenes, puzzles and objects or clues to find in various locations, rather like the "Murder on the Orient Express" game but its not, its a series of Hidden Object games with the occasional puzzle thrown in. There is no dialogue as such, just some cartoon like pages of pictures/script. If you do or dont do the "bonus" puzzle it doesnt actually make any difference to the game. Some of the items to find are miniscule or in the most obscure places - a black cat in a hedge in the dark? This game took me about 2 hours to complete

I love this just as much as Death On The Nile; I've played it enough now to nearly know where all the objects are - but it still manages to catch me out.
