Product Description

Long before Summerill and the gods of darkness were defeated in Record of Agarest War, another battle was fought across generations to save the world from evil. Record of Agarest War Zero takes you back to that ancient time…

Record of Agarest War Zero is a single player, turn-based Strategic RPG. A prequel set 1,000 years before the original Record of Agarest War game, Record of Agarest War Zero features the return of the multi-generational Soul-Breeding system, the new Free Intention system, which influences your relationship with game heroines, new skills by way of a new card system and more.

The war between the forces of darkness and the forces of light, a conflict already many years old, has been fought to a stalemate. In the nation of Kraltarla, the forces of light hold back the evil hordes of darkness spilling from Findeste at the Scarred Mountains, but only just. In a desperate attempt to gain an advantage that could change the course of the war, the generals of the armies of light dispatch their loyal servant Sieghart, whom fate has seen fit to grant a strange and awesome power. Sieghart's mission takes him across Kraltarla to gather the components for a magical tool that can free the imprisoned blacksmith of the gods, so that he might forge magical artifacts of great and terrible power for the forces of light.

Key Game Features

  • Prequel to the RPG That Brought You Five Generations - The pivotal installment of the multi-generational tale tells the story of what happened in the age before Record of Agarest War, detailing the rise of some to glory, and the fall of others, into darkness.
  • Experience "Living Portraits" - The beautiful, static character portraits from Record of Agarest War are now animated to resemble living and breathing characters.
  • Players will now see Sieghart display emotions of surprise, despair, and joy, among others.

Another great jrpg 31 Aug 2011
Fun:
As a player who has played the first game i had some idea of what this one would be like and i have to say i was not let down. The items that come with the collectors edition where great a good sound track had to be the best part to me but there was also a poster and 3 postcard type cards that have a 3D effect. The game itself is just great it has a gripping story with lots of plot twists and as like the other game you came make choices at certain parts to make a girl fall for you so you can make the child for the next generation. The sound is great goes well with battles and as good background music with in game cutsceens. I must warn players who don't like japan style voice acting that this game only uses English in the text chat and there is no choice to switch the game English voice acting. The gameplay is what you would expect from a rgp you level up and spend points on stats such as str agi and so on to level your party as you see fit. You also gain other things such as ep and tp that can be used to upgrade and make new gear. You move around the map going from dot to dot fighting monsters at each dot until you reach where you need to go just like the first game. The boss fights can be some what hard at times depending on what level of difficulty you are playing the game on. And for you you players of the first game there is a nice import bonus if you have clear data from the first game. Over all this is a great name and with the collector's edition only being 30 pounds you cant go wrong if your a fan of jrpgs.
