Another brilliant 2CD set from the unbeatable party DJ Krafty Kuts.
Krafty keeps the breaks bouncing throughout, it's relentlessly funky with a great amount of variety. It's a fun and feel-good mix and it's as slick as you'd expect. You can't really go wrong with Krafty Kuts.
Disc one is a mix of Krafty Kut's recent remixes and re-rubs. Krafty messes more with some tracks than others, but the result is a solid hour-long mix that has that unmistakable Krafty sound throughout.
Disc two is "Against The Grain Classics", another hour-long mix mainly based on breaks classics from Deekline & Wizard, Freestylers, Ed Solo & Skool Of Thought and of course Krafty Kuts himself. All the favourites are here- the Plump DJs mix of "Push Up", the Freestylers vs Pendulum "Painkiller", and the "One In The Front" acapella which (it seems) is legally obliged to appear on every single breaks compilation of the last 3 years. There are no real surprises but like disc one it's a faultless mix and great to hear a bit of new life added into the mixing of these great tracks.
Breakbeat seems to be fading away in a lot of places but Krafty Kuts and Against The Grain stick to their guns and keep rolling out the quality. 5 out of 5.
