A personal favourite of mine - I thought it a big mistake when I heard Mariah intended to remake it on her "Rainbow" album...it was only after hearing it however that I had to eat my words as her version matched - if not excelled Phil Collins original. Imagine my surprise when I first heard this new single with the Westlife boys added..... Against All Odds is an extremely lonely song - written for a soloist yearning for their love back again and solo it should remain. Combining six voices - striving to achieve the greater vocal lines and smearing harmonies throughout the song (including a "choir" style ending as opposed to the subtle, hopeful end on Phil's/Mariah's versions)has robbed the song - for me - of all it's beauty, emotion and loneliness. Mariah says she prefers this to her solo effort - but I feel she should listen again - she successfully recorded an "unbeatable" song and should have left it at that. Did we really need to add the Westlife boys just to get another UK Nos. 1 added to her list of incomparable achievements.....

I remember listening to this song when i was little and thining, gee, this song really is quite good, but then it came out agin first by Mariah alone. It ws my favorite track on her cd, and still is. But as soon as the angelic combonation of Mariah Carey and Westlife came together my world flipped. I almost cried when I first heard the song, I expected it to be good but not THAT good. This is a song I say a fan of any music could enjoy... so beautiful it's scary!

Fine C.D.OTHER TRACKS O.K,not to my taste particularly.What more can I say about it,i'm struggling to think of anything.um tee tum tee tum.Am I there yet on minimum number of words for this review......

wow
I LOVE this song Mariahs voice caries it beautifuly, just enough stength to make it powerful but with something else to which brings out the full potential of the song.
