By chance I was listening to the Greatest Hits album recently and had a look round to see what else was available by Mr Somerville. The songs on this album are all great, my favorites being So Cold Tonight and But Not Tonight, the first a heart-felt reflection on the end of love and the second about having a good time! I love his really unique voice, I think he really uses it well, especially the ballad Selfish Days. Well done Jimmy!

why is it an artists career goes downhill after the first album..no matter how great the material is? this is a prime example!!!

after bronski beat and the communards it was a rapid decline for jimmy..yet the work he has produced is as good if not better!

"could this be love" is wonderful and a floorfiller! "under a lovers sky" follows on and is so uplifting! the verses are a bit shirley bassey but the choruses are wonderful!

"come on" again is brilliant..very euro-disco..amazing!"its still hurts"..it gets even better!!! its a wonderful song..one of his best!

"its so good"..amazing again!"burn"..amazing again!

"aint no mountain" a cover of the diana ross classic..was hoping it was horrid...aso this review didnt sound over the top...but its not! its great again...not a patch on the original but still amazing!

"i will come around" is reggae based and at last a song that doesnt deserve 10 stars! it good and plods along! "but not tonight" is hardcore dance floor and it is amazing...amzing..had to say it twice cos ive said so many songs are just amazing!

"amnesia" has jimmys amazing falsetto vocals..another brilliant dance track! "home again" the title track is a brilliant track..even im getting sick of saying how good this album is!

"whats your game" isnt as strong as the rest but still very good.."selfish days" is an orchestral number that yet again is..AMAZING!

last track "stay" is huge..big banging drums...brilliant vocals...epic production!!!!

this album is BRILLIANT! and AMAZING! and im not going too far!!!

This is a great return to form for Jimmy. His writing is largely to a high standard, and the tracks vary greatly in their style, so they'll be something for anyone who has liked his stuff before. Shame hes not as popular anymore, he is still making good music. I recommend it.

Having jettisoned the big disco tunes that made him famous with the superb 'Dare to Love' album, Jimmy has come up with an even more mature and reflective album; still dance-oriented but arguably more complete than anything he has released previously. The distinctive falsetto is still in place - although not on every track - and the diminutive Glaswegian should be proud of successfully negotiating that early post-fame slump and getting straight back on the horse. Jimmy's record sales may have diminished considerably since The Communard's mid-80s peak, but if anything the quality of his work is getting even better. Here's to a Somerville renaissance in 2010!
