The Afterlife is Real is the latest book from much-loved paranormal expert, Theresa Cheung, and is a captivating collection of true stories from people who have glimpsed the next life. Using as evidence first-hand accounts from ordinary people whose lives have been transformed by near death experiences and/or contact with the other side, Theresa will answer the big questions that everyone asks at some point in their lives whether or not they are religious/spiritual. What happens when we die? Will we ever see our loved ones again? Is there an afterlife? Is there a heaven? Its aim is to empower readers with the knowledge that there are answers, hope and life in the midst of confusion, uncertainty and death. Theresa instructs readers in how to look for signs of spirit communication and how near death experiences can inspire and transform lives. It is a powerful and comforting reminder that there is more waiting for us than we see in the here and now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Real life stories, real emotion.... 9/10 20 April 2013

When nobody has reviewed a book and you don't know whether to part with your money (or not) it is handy to come to amazon and read a page or two online. The author had me on the hook just by reading page one 'Presenting My Case' alone. The purchase soon followed.

After reading many a book on spiritual matters, my rule of thumb is to write a page number down in pencil when I have read something inspiring then I keep the book and retrieve the information at a later date. My pencil has been busy at the front of this book.

The author heard her deceased mothers voice when on a car journey and it told her in a stern voice to go right and not left at the next junction. The author did as she was told despite wanting to go left, it saved her life, she would have been involved in a fatal accident.

There are many wonderful and emotional stories from everyday people who want no reward but just to have their stories told. Be prepared for some amazing events with reassurance and advice coming from the author. One of the key points raised by Theresa is have an open and trusting heart and see phenomenon from your loved ones arrive in abundance, I couldn't have put it better, enjoy the book.

What a beautiful book! And it has been a privilege to read it.
A clear-minded, and well-written account of a lady whose family were mediums -but she had no obvious sensitivity to such things....until one day she had her OWN direct experiences and contact with spirit. One of them saved her life in a tragic traffic accident....and the other, a very unexpected contact -showed her a victim of this accident was now safe and well on 'the other side'. These experiences changed her life.

Fascinated with the knowledge that there was now some existence after 'death', she went on to collect numerous accounts of peoples' first-hand experiences during an NDE (Near-Death-Experience.) All these accounts show the same things -that we are spirits having an encounter with the physical world....and that the main thing that matters in all of our lives is love. One important pont the writer makes, is that it's not necessary to be a 'psychic' or 'medium' to connect with loved ones in spirit, as many after-death-contacts are received by very ordinary people -even sceptics!
I can vouch for this myself.

I already know there is an afterlife, after having encountered my dog during a conscious out-of-body experience after her passing. The first thing that struck me was "She has another body!" (It was a tangible experience, where I literally touched her, felt the details of her body, and her warmth. This body was identical to the one she left behind!)

That was not a goodbye. She has returned to me numerous times since then. I am impressed with the great love, peace and a sense of absolute 'rightness' from her spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars It was comforting for the following reason 11 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Within a few minutes, after asking my recently deceased husband to show me a sign that he was still around me, I had chosen this book at random. I downloaded it to my kindle and after turning about five pages in Chapter One there was a sub heading with just two words "It's Me" and they were rapidly flashing on and off. In a state of shock I kept turning back a page and trying it again and each time the two words flashed several times before coming to a standstill. About sixteen pages after this the same thing happened with another sub heading when two words of another subheading rapidly flashed and when they came to a standstill they read "Making Contact". I am now wondering if any other readers have experienced the same thing because my second Kindle Fire does not flash when these two subheadings appear. Does anyone have an explanation as to why these words flash on and off when none of the rest of the text on the page doesn't or has my husband contacted me. The sub headings are still flashing but more slowly now even though I have recharged the battery but I have managed to video the phenomenon on my phone and my tablet. I have sent an email to Theresa Cheung to find out if any of her other readers have experienced the same.

1.0 out of 5 stars ALL BEEN SAID BEFORE IN MUCH BETTER WAYS 19 April 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
How this book comes to be a best seller beats me - clever marketing I suppose.

It is rather naiively written and very repetitive much of the time. I have read many books of the genre, most of them much more informative and intelligently written, so, sadly, have to say that this book is all right as a primer, so to speak, if you know nothing about the subject; otherwise, it is in my view, actually , a complete waste of money.

Did not find this book particularly inspiring, and was somewhat repetitive at times. Not a bad book, but not great either.
