Look, it's just not good enough that you don't own this and it's certainly not good enough that no one's reviewed it. Because this compilation is one of the finest I've ever bought. You don't need to have any knowledge of Tropicalia or Brazilian music full stop, you just need to marvel at the breadth of wonderful songs on this album. They're funky, tuneful, poignant and gorgeous and I just cannot stop playing this. Like a lot of Tropicalia that preceded these songs, it's largely a fabulous mix of traditional Brazilian samba (and other styles I'm less familiar with) and Western rock, with the Beatles and the Beach Boys being particular references. It might sound cheesy to say you can actually feel the sun when you're listening to them, but well, that's what it feels like.

Go in, let the sunshine in - you know you want to.

Incidentally, I loved the Nelson Angelo & Joyce songs so much, I bought their album to and that's also a corker. You heard it here first.
