I was busy getting ready for breakfast and the dash to work when Emin came on the BBC Breakfast TV interview couch.
I think Emin said that he is the son of some kind of successful Russian businessman and is also apparently a successful business man in his own right, working at his Dad's company as a Director. He came over as a pleasant, charming and well educated sort of chap.
Breakfast TV invited him to sing a track off the album and it immediately caught my attention. Emin had real presence, even in the TV studio and his voice was as smooth as oil trickling over milk chocolate...the backing was better than competent too.
Emin produces an easy listening "rocky ballad", that provides nice background music whilst driving in the car. At home, on a decent stereo system, an occasional track is very acceptable, but the album as a whole is a bit too samey, although rather well produced...in an almost smooth operator Sade style.
Because of the similarity between each of the "easy on the ear" tracks, I won't be buying anymore CDs from Mr Emin, but at least he appears to be making a better job of his singing career, than Mr Nikolai did building a sports car business? ;)
