Book Description

Waldo Rabbit is back!

Waldo and Alice continue on their quest, now accompanied by the ogre Gronk. They are headed to Norwich, where they hope to find the third monster that will be Waldo's last familiar. But things are never as simple as they seem. An archlich, White Mage, and murderous rabbits all stand in the way.

Yes, that’s right, the murderous flesh eating rabbits make their appearance! Waldo is both the hunter and the hunted. Can he find his last familiar before his enemies find him? It looks like everyone is after the rabbit.

    3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 18 April 2014
    By Morhib
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After being thoroughly amused and entertained by the first book, I had high hopes for the sequel. Sadly, I felt that this book suffered from sequel syndrome.

The book felt slow and not a lot happened. I get that the author wants to stretch the story out but he runs the risk of disgruntling his readers if every book he releases only plods on an extra step.

Another problem I had was Waldo. It was funny reading about Waldo in the first book and how his opinions/acts differed greatly to everyone else. His character was new, inventive and at times had me laughing loudly.
I had hoped in the sequel that we'd have seen more character development from him. Basically see how much further he developed living away from his homeland. Instead, it felt like Waldo was stuck in a rut and the jokes that were funny at first were being repeated over and over again, until it became just boring.

I did enjoy reading about Alice, the succubi. She is without doubt one of the best female heroines I have ever read. She's smart, witty and doesn't take a step back. Her actions are what I imagine an actual person would do or say if put in that situation.
I also enjoyed reading about Gronk, the homosexual Ogre, who I found highly amusing. I've never come across a character like Gronk before and he had me grinning every time he said something.

I'm still going to buy the third book in the series - there's no doubt about that - but it may be my last.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but a tad short. 19 April 2014

The book wasn't bad, but it was short.
I would have enjoyed the sequel a lot more if there had just been more. There was little progress in both the quest and character development.
In the first book, we saw how Waldo's views differed from everybody else, and we saw him slowly change due to Alice's influence. However there was none, or very little of this in the second book.
