Two master thieves (Brosnan and Hayek) are finally retiring after one last succesful mission. Residing in their own tropical paradise, their old nemesis, FBI Agent Stan P. Lloyd shows up to make sure they really are retired. Docked in the port is an ocean liner called the "Diamond Cruise" and Stan is convinced that they're not really retired at all, and that this is the next set up. While Lola (Hayek) is busy settling into their new life and trying to find ways to keep busy, Max (Brosnan) is contemplating whether or not to steal the diamond. Now the question is, will he? Will Stan finally catch him after eight years of chasing him? Will Lola help Max steal it? And what of that shady character that has told Max he must steal the diamond for him?

4.0 out of 5 stars no brainer fun, 8 Oct 2005
By
This review is from: After the Sunset [DVD] (DVD)
An enjoyable easy going film that has some really funny moments. Woody Harrelson and Pierce Brosnan are excellent together. The babes and beaches are great, and if you can forgive the formulaic plot, you'll enjoy it. I think the male leads are looking good, despite some other reviewer's comments. This is no masterpiece, but not a bad rental for a cosy evening. My wife liked it too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprise ! Surprise!, 13 May 2005
This review is from: After the Sunset [DVD] (DVD)
A very enjoyable watch. The script is fairly witty and the plot, even though a bit predictable, has a nice twist right at the end.
The performances are good and the comic chemistry between Brosnan and Harrelson is terrific!(Not to mention Salma Hayek's
great curves)The movie reminded me of the great 70's action/comedy films (e.g the scarecrow/mean machine/the gauntlet
and so on.)Anyway a fun night in!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Bit of Fun Highly Enjoyable, 22 Aug 2006

From the first scene to the final cut this is a really by the numbers thriller but does not suffer at all it is fun good fun lots of scenery and just all round enjoyable. Dont need to think too hard and there are some pretty pointless scenes involving a shark and suntan lotion. The cast are all great although I feel that Don Cheadle was rather short changed. Not really worthy of a big screen outing but a great dvd release.
