After Hours is the new single from New Yorker's We Are Scientists. This is a song with a good guitar riff, but not much else. I am a big fan of the band, and their first album was excellent throughout, and so this song is disappointing as there is not a unique sound to it at all.

Brain Thrust Mastery has got to be pretty damn good to beat With Love and Squalor, their first album. I really hope there are much better songs on it than After Hours. Don't get me wrong, still a good indie song, but I know they can do better!

A band who ought to be good, what with their witty banter, exploding drummers, offering self-improvement seminars to fans, and V necked sweaters. But sadly, none of these things are actually essential ingredients in writing a good tune.

And this follows in a line of We Are Scientists almost good records but just lacking that killer punch singles. WASAGRBJLTKPS for short. There's also the horrendous fact that it actually sounds an awful lot like a Killers single. Are WAS actually The Killers shorn of spangly jackets and moustaches. I hope so, for that would be a trick worthy of praise.

Not as good as 'Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt' but better than 'It's a Hit', this is simply marking time.
