2.0 out of 5 stars Reviews obviously written by author or associated folks 29 Aug 2012

Format:Paperback
I purchased the book recently and its content is reasonable and seems knowledgeable. However, the author is the owner of a travel firm and pitches his company constantly. They should send this out as a brochure for the company. In addition, 3 of 4 reviews are most likely written by the author. Even the titles are all over punctuated similarly. They have the same date and none of the reviewers have any other reviews to their credit.

1.0 out of 5 stars Five 5-star reviews the day after it is published by reviewers with no history? Come on. 21 Aug 2012

Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
There may indeed be helpful information in this book, but the choppy, ill-organized layout rife with grammatical errors was frustrating to read. Worse, the author operates a travel agency specializing in African travel and uses this book to advertise his services every few pages. The blatant solicitation makes me wonder how much - if any - of his information is unbiased.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good prepping source for a trip to Africa 20 Dec 2012
By Nager - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a good book for anybody who is planning a trip to Africa. It gives an overview of the main tourism countries like Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa among others but also provides very detailed information about accommodation options in the different destinations. what I really liked were the charts in the front that tell you when to go where and also the packing list. The downside of the book is that it is very heavy, so not something to bring on the trip but rather to prepare for it.
