Perhaps the best guide 10 Mar. 2014
By Bill Hansen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Spiral-bound Verified Purchase
"African Safari Journal" is not a general purpose book about wildlife tours in Africa. Instead, it's a wonderful book about the animals and vegetation of the continent, also including numerous words and phrases of native African languages - several languages. The illustrations are excellent and the photos are inspiring. It's a book which will make any wildlife tour in Africa more enjoyable. Very highly recommended.

Great handbook for Africa 17 Oct. 2013

It was the perfect book to take with me to Africa. It was great to identify animals and record experiences as well as inform about African countries.

Best all-in-one for light packing 1 Dec. 2014
By Linda - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Spiral-bound
I loved this book. I was able to have everything in one book. There was a place to fill in all the information for my safari, a large journal to write in, and all the information about the different areas of Africa. There is also a small area for the mammals, birds, insects, trees and others. I loved having the animal and bird list I could check when I saw the animal or bird. It was all in one for me. Of course there were not all the birds or animals, but the most common ones. I would recommend it for anyone going on safari in Africa.

Great resource to take on safari 19 Jun. 2014
By Richard R. Fields - Published on Amazon.com

I looked high and low to find a travel book for Safari in Eastern Africa and finally found this. I have read through it prior to my Safari and am pleased with all the resources it offers. Can't wait to start cross referencing the animals I'll be seeing.

Was the best guide anyone brought on our safari. Everyone kept borrowing it from me. Recommend reading lots of it before you go, so you are prepared.
