The Boys Choir of Kenya (aka Kenya Boys Choir) is drawn from high school and college students, so is more a young men's choir than a boys' choir. They sing beautifully and this album (a double CD) features nearly two hours of their music.
The first CD is a 2004 studio album, while the second CD comprises live performance from an American tour.
The album features the choir with minimal instrumentation - mostly just percussion, though there are a few appearances by a string instrument or flutes.
If I've counted right from the information in the liner notes, the 30 songs on the album are sung in 17 different languages, providing a rich sample of the linguistic and cultural diversity of Kenya (there are four songs in English, on CD 2 - the live performances on tour - and a few in languages from Uganda and Nigeria).
This is high quality African choir music and will appeal to you if you like African harmonies with minimal instrumental accompaniment.
