Product Description
After the two last house parties, Lord Burford's misgivings about guests were understandable. After all, the "unfortunate incidents" which had taken place had been murders. But, these people were travelling a long way for the funeral of an elderly relative. There was nowhere else for them to stay, so the Earl really had to offer them accommodation at Alderley, the Burfords' Carolean mansion. Things started to go wrong when one of guests claimed she had knowledge that would ruin the others' reputations. But, nobody took that seriously. Until, that is, she was found murdered...Lord Burford had never been so relieved as when Chief Inspector Wilkins arrived. Again!

I am so pleased that I found this series of books all of which I have now read and thoroughly enjoyed. Although they are all set in the same location they are quite varied, well drawn and all have more than a touch of humour with, on occasion, leanings towards farce. Great for a winter read.

I do alot of train and plane journeys and use them to catch up on chill out time. I am a great bed time reader as well and having read of Ms Christie's have discovered this author. Am glad I did.

loses the plot a bit
read the first two and enjoyed them , but he really loses the plot in this one, the whole drawing room/ stately house thing wears very thin and becomes boring. Read more

Not bad, prefer 39 Steps!!
A jolly read what! If you like a quaint drawing room murder this one's for you. Very gentle, no blood or gore, very amusing in parts with some comical characters. Read more
