I took the time to review the wine aerators on the market that are being
sold to the general public, I am not a wine expert but I do drink enough
wine and am a member of three wine clubs thus this review comes from many
who take their wine very seriously
Vino2,Magic Decanter,Vinturi,Vinalito, Decantus,
Starting from the best to the worst
A+ Vino2 is hands down the best for the value. From the gift box to its
sleek design the VinO2 stands above the rest. I find it to have the exact
same effect of aeration as the Vinturi except it is priced more reasonable
and the packaging it comes is is the best out of all the aerators in this
review. It is amazing how it can take a Melbec, or any young Red wine to
perform a reduction in tannins thus creating a instant decanting allowing
wine to be enjoyed withing seconds. I find this the best all around deal
based on price, design, function, craftsmanship and popularity within my
wine goups.
A- Vinturi, I first used a vinturi a year ago and again I have nothing bad
to say. It has the same exact effect on red wine as the vino2 except the
price point is higher and I was not a fan of the design flaws. If you look
on the side you see lines that are from manufacturing and they also have
internal scratches , these are from the manufacturing of the product as on
some they look like not appealing. The aerator works fantastic and it comes
with a wine pouch for travel, I am not big on bringing my aerator to friends
as they might not let me take it home but of you are this a added feature. I
like the vinturi but not worth the extra money and it is not as easy to hold
as the Vino2.
B+ Decants is a wine aerator that has started to take momentum as I JUST SAW
3 at my last wine club meeting, the price is extremely high and most people
find it bulky. It does work very well just like the Vin02 and vinturi but I
am not seeing the benefit for paying the extra money plus it is too big for
most to handle around wine glasses.
C- Magic Decanter is a vinturi knock off, I am amazed how they can get
around this as the design is the exact same just a cheaper gift box and I
feel not well made at all. I am not a fan of this product as they took the
vinturi design and changed the name. The product seams to be cheaper then
the above three, and that is more then likely because it a copy out of china
without much support and marketing behind it, if you like this design then
get the vinturi as I am not a fan of taking someones design.
D- Vinalito is a aerator that I can say does not work well at all, the wine
aerator does not give off the sounds of aeration that shows that your wine
in being fortfified with oxgen. The gift box is very cheap and the entire
design I feel is not very attractive. You are better off if you want a cheap
down and dirty wine aerator to go with the magic decanter . This is not a
well designed product and if you get to pour wine through it tell me what
sound you hear, as you will hear nothing as this shows no aeration is taking
place, all the above use a far superior wine aeration process and you can
taste the difference .
Summary I would go with the Vin02 as it seems to be best all round, I bought
mine on Amazon as they sell them less then what we we do and I qualify for
the free shipping . The comes the vinturi, if you do not mind spending the
money this is a good choice but many are not happy with the fold lines in
the design and I myself am not spending extra to have this. The others I
would say in a nice way are not in the same league .
