Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, known by his pen name, Lewis Carroll, was happiest in the company of children for whom he created puzzles, clever games and charming letters. As all Carroll admirers know, his book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) became an immediate success and has since been translated into more than eighty languages. The equally popular sequel Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, was published in 1872. The Alice books are but one example of his wide ranging authorship. The Hunting of the Snark, a classic nonsense epic (1876) and Euclid and His Modern Rivals, a rare example of humorous work concerning mathematics, still entice and intrigue today's students. His humour, sparkling wit and genius have lasted for more than a century and his books are among the most quoted works in the English language.

I bought this book as a birthday present for my daughter, she is over the moon with it, the leather binding and gold edging to the pages make this a luxury book. She is a big fan of the author's sense of humour and really likes the pink colour though pink might not suit everyone.

Really good quality, better than it looks in the picture. Bit heavy though so not great for bedtime reading or travelling. Loads of stories and interpretations and notes for hardcore Lewis Carrol fans.

Our daughter has always loved the Alice stories and as she turned eighteen we wanted to give her something from her childhood she can treasure. She loves this book. It's beautifully produced as a very readable but definitely a presentation volume. All the original illustrations are here, along with lots of works by Lewis Carroll not so readily available. I received this for christmas and love it!.. the cover looks just as nice as in the pictures.. pink leather bound and gold rimmed pages. The illustartions inside the books are great. Would recommend this as a present especially for any Alice fans!
