I read this book many years ago. but unfortunatly loaned it to somebody and never got it back. The story is a fabulous tale about a lad that wishes to become invisible so that he can get his revenge on people that treat him badly. Only to find that to achieve invisibility he has to be at piece with everybody. The book is large and definatly not suitable for the young or people who suffer from a sense of outrage. This book makes no sense at all, but once you pick it up you will not want to put it down. It is so rediculous it's brilliant. It is aproximately 15 years since I read and can still think back and smile at some of situations described in the book. Such as how an Indian tribe can be extinct and still have thousands of members all with the same name.

yes, i too read this about 15 years ago, and remember it being the most outrageously funny book i've ever read. i sat on a crowded train from brighton to worthing- not a journey renowned for its fun moments- and laughed outloud all the way through. the only other book that did this was puckoon by spike milligan. perhaps any journey towards worthing sets you up for enjoyment of a certain surreal and off the wall humour. strangely i can think of no books that made me laugh out loud as i travelled away from worthing...strange and interesting.

ooh er...as i finished this review i notice that it states that i'm in worthing west sussex. but it asks the question "where in the world are you?" (example: moscow, russia) why moscow? whats wrong with worthing...other than the above. please answer me someone.

oh, and good as the book is, buggered if i'm paying £35 for a used paperback version of it. !!!
