5.0 out of 5 stars Just Brilliant!, 23 May 2009
I love this book! I've had my copy for 10 years and I read it over and over again. The book is full of short stories which are so easy to read. It's brilliantly written and very witty and as I read the book I find myself reading sentences over and over as they are out together very well. I'm not old enough to remember the tv series but the illustrations add a nice touch. I would definitely reccommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious and breathtakingly clever., 17 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Another classic from the 1970's, featuring all your favourite charachters from the television series that once achieved cult status. You join Dougal and his friends on their wild adventures, which include a trip to Scotland, to Dougal's uncle Hamish, where they go "Haggis hunting" and sledging. Another adventure take them on a magic carpet on a round the world trip, visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa and an Arabian village, where Dougal tries to get rid of Brian, by selling him to an Arab as a wife. You also read about the usual fun and games in the garden itself with Mr Rusty and Mr McHenry making appearances. All in all this is another all time great. Each page is filled with a fresh adventure and a fresh laugh. Pure escapisim and extremely enjoyable

5.0 out of 5 stars "Of course I know I'm up a tree! I am not totally lacking in a sense of direction!" said Dougal...
I wasn't a child of the 60's (sadly) but when we were younger we had a video of the Magic Roundabout with the Eric Thompson originals on it, and I loved it. Read more
