Product Description

Product Description

Each project in this book combines bookbinding with a specific craft such as quilting, jewelry making, or polymer clay, and offers three levels of expertise: basic, novice, and expert. Illustrated, step-by-step instructions and photographs demonstrate how to construct the covers, inside pages, and a unique binding technique, easy enough for a beginner to master. The novice version is for those who have no knowledge of the craft and want shortcuts, but love the look. The expert version is for those who have a great deal of knowledge and proficiency of a certain craft-the master art quilter, for example. No other craft book offers the possibilities and challenges that Adventures in Bookbinding does. Readers will return to it again and again to find inspiration and ideas.

VERY interesting 18 Oct 2011
Format:Paperback
I'm always excited to see a new book on bookbinding (one of my passions). I especially like big full-colour photos (I find it very hard to see detail in b&w and greyscale pix) and I like good closeups of any step-by-step processes. This book fills all those requirements very nicely. I liked most of the projects although the soft toy covers were a little too 'out there' for me (cringe-making in fact) but bye and large I was extremely impressed. So YES, I do recommend it. It shares knowledge, it shares art and it's also fun. 4 stars from me!

This book has some amazing projects that I cannot wait to try out but I really wouldn't reccomend it for uuter beginners. there are alot of different tools used and no real explanations of the beginning aspects of bookmaking. I would only reccomend getting this once you have a good grasp of the basics and are willing to try a few new things with your skills.
